David H. Long
President
Mr. Long graduated from
Dickinson College with a
BA in Economics in 1978.
From 1978 until 1983 he
worked for Turn-Key
Distribution System,
Inc. in Woburn,
Massachusetts where he
performed duties as a
Programmer, Project
Manager and Programming
Manager.
In 1983 Mr. Long founded
DavLong Business
Solutions in Savannah,
Georgia were he remains
today as President. In
his 22 years at DavLong,
Mr. Long has been
instrumental in many
phases of the company’s
development. Mr. Long’s
responsibilities include
short and long range
strategic and financial
planning. He also is
responsible overseeing
all contract
negotiations and
maintaining all vendor
relations. Among Mr.
Long’s achievements has
been the creation of
DavLong’s EMR team,
which required the
purchase of two
companies.
Dean S. Gitlin
Vice President Sales and
Support
Mr. Gitlin graduated
from Hofstra University
where he received his
BBA in 1984 and his MBA
in 1988. After working
as an Operations Manager
for a hardware/software
corporate and retail
distributor in Atlanta,
Georgia called Micro
Environments, Inc. and
Micro Works, Inc., Mr.
Gitlin formed a
partnership with the
owner of that company
and started a company
called Systems
Strategies, Inc. in
1990. System Strategies
sold applications
software to the
wholesale distribution,
manufacturing, and
medical industries. In
1992, Mr. Gitlin spun
off the Medical division
of System Strategies and
formed Med-Assist.
Med-Assist sold a
practice management
software product
developed in-house under
the name Med-Assist. In
1998, DavLong purchased
Med-Assist, and brought
Mr. Gitlin in to head
the sales and support
aspects of DavLong’s
business.
Boris Katz
Vice President of
Development
Mr. Katz graduated from
St. Petersburg (Russia)
Technical University in
1975 where he received
an MS in Electronics and
Computer Science. In
Russia, he worked for a
Soviet-American joint
venture company as a
System Engineer engaged
in developing software
for the State Emergency
Hospital. Some projects
included transmitting
ECG data from ambulances
to the Cardiovascular
Center with further
processing involving the
creation of a Cardio
knowledge base. In 1991,
Mr. Katz moved to the
United States where he
began working for a
company that transferred
MUMS medical
applications to new
operating systems (Unix,
Windows, etc.). From
1992 to 1997, he was
Technical Director of
the Houston branch of
Medical Manager. In
1998, Mr. Katz formed
Apex Medical Systems,
Inc., a MedInformatix
distributor, in Houston,
Texas. In 2000, DavLong
purchased Apex Medical
Systems, Inc. and
brought Mr. Katz in to
head the development
team. |
